St. Raphael, the Archangel, pray for us!

October 24th is the Traditional Feast Day of St. Raphael, the Archangel. My Mom had a devotion to her Guardian Angel from the time she was a very young girl. Her grandmother taught her about the Angels. She also loved St. Raphael, the Archangel, and called upon him for help, especially in times of need. St. Raphael was her lifelong companion and God called her to her eternal home on his Feast Day! Our friendships with the Angels and the Saints are real and powerful in this life and the next life.

St. Raphael, the Archangel is the patron saint of healing, interceding for those in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual restoration, and supporting all those who care for the suffering: doctors, nurses, pharmacists, caregivers, and counselors.

St. Raphael is also the patron of love and joyful relationships. He watches over those who are single and seeking companionship, young people discerning their vocations, and married couples striving for unity and grace in their marriages. He is also the patron of travelers, happy meetings, the blind and those with eye ailments, students of Catholic studies, and anyone seeking protection from nightmares or attacks from the evil one.

As we honor St. Raphael, the Archangel, today, let us pray to him for our intentions:

Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, filled with the mercy of God, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are also called the “terror of demons” and a powerful exterminator of vices. Since you are known to be the consoler of the afflicted and the refuge of sinners, I beg you, assist me and all those I am praying for, in all our needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels so that through your intercession I may obtain the graces necessary for the salvation of my soul. Remember me and always entreat for me before the Face of the Son of God. Help me to love and serve my God faithfully, to die in His grace, and finally to merit to join you in seeing and praising God forever in heaven. Amen.
