St. Carlo Acutis and St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!
9/7/25
Today Pope Leo XIV canonized two new saints, St. Carlo Acutis, the millennial saint who spread the faith through technology, and St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, the mountaineer who served the poor with joy. St. Carlo died at the age of fifteen and St. Pier Giorgio died at the age of twenty-four. Both Saints shared a deep love for the Eucharist. Let us pray to these new Saints!
Prayer for the Intercession of St. Carlo Acutis
Oh God, our Father, thank you for giving us Carlo, a model of life for young people and a message of love for all. You have made him fall in love with your son Jesus, making the Eucharist his “highway to heaven.” You have given him Mary as a very beloved Mother, and you have made him, with her Rosary, become a singer of her tenderness. She welcomes his intercession for us. He looks above all at the poor, whom he loved and helped. [Grant me also, through his intercession, the grace I need…] And make our joy full, leading Carlo among the saints of the universal Church, so that his smile continues to shine for us and for the glory of your name. Amen
Pray an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be.
Words of St. Carlo Acutis:
“Prayer is the language of heaven.” “The more often we receive the Eucharist, the more we become like Jesus and the more we get a foretaste of heaven.” “Sadness is looking toward oneself, happiness is looking toward God.” “Jesus, make yourself at home! Live within me as if it were your own dwelling!” “Our soul is like a hot air balloon. If by chance there is a mortal sin, the soul falls to the ground. Confession is like the fire underneath the balloon enabling the soul to rise again. . . It is important to go to confession often.” “Continuously ask your guardian angel for help. Your guardian angel has to become your best friend.”
Pray for the Intercession of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati
Heavenly Father, give us the courage to strive for the highest goals, to flee every temptation to be mediocre. Enable us to aspire to greatness, as Pier Giorgio did, and to open our hearts in joy to your call to holiness. Free us from the fear of failure. We want to be, Lord, firmly and forever united to you. Grant us the graces we ask thee through Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati’s intercession, by the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Words of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati:
“When you are totally consumed by the Eucharistic fire, then you will be able more consciously to thank God, who has called you to become part of His family.” “When God is with us, we don’t have to be afraid of anything.” “In prayer the soul rises above life’s sadnesses.” “In God’s marvelous plan, Divine Providence often uses the tiniest twigs to do good works.” “Every day, my love for the mountains grows more and more. If my studies permitted, I’d spend whole days in the mountains contemplating the Creator’s greatness in that pure air.”
